ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABLE DESIGN (ARC 1413)

PROJECT 1: THE PEOPLE AND PLANET PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION 2013
INTRODUCTION

 

Each year, a Photography Competition, the People and Planet Photography competition is held by an Australian Magazine Insider and the objective of this photo contest is to encourage people to get aware of global warming and social injustice around the world. 

 

When it comes to us, Architecture Students, according to the newly changed program, we were assigned to participate in the contest and contribute first as young artists aware of the gravity of the situation by exploring divert types of environments and come out with four photographs.

 

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

 

1. A better awareness and concern about the magnificent beauty of the world's mass nature which going instinct.

2. Through the exploration of the different behaviours of nature and of the social movement of the world, the ability to translate motion and to learn bio-mimicry has achieved. By better understanding this components, an impressive improvement into the thinking process for designing was also achieved.

3. We in the end of this project, had a better recognition of nature and had more concern about the world as we were to react to the emotions of the world and express them into pictures translating them into either chaotic or poetic interpretations.

PROJECT 2: PAYING IT FORWARD 

THE DAY WHICH CHANGED OUR LIFE

This project was of more emotional and psychological impact than architectural. The Educational impact on us all in my team was considered as more than a simple description. We did learn more than just about the sustainability of materials. We are assigned to do charity work in an orphanage ceter, United Learning Center and all the works were done not just by duty but with the sense of compassion, It was more of a mission than a simple assessment as these children have no family,minimum support and we took responsiblity of helping them by designing some supplied for them. We cannot change their fate but we can make them improve their way of life. We will be pleased for you to enjoy our report by clicking on the picture.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

 

1. The sense of designing for the world more than designing for us was acquired.

 

2. The meaning of FUNCTION was better understood.

 

3. We understood that any design could be made than even scrap materials.

 

4. The word RECYCLABLE was brought into practice.

 

5. Better understanding of the term SUSTAINABLE.

 

6. This project was more about teaching us the sense of duty towards the people as we may be the architects of tomorrow.
